Lead-acid or lithium for your golf cart?
We compare the two battery types on price, range, charging time and five-year cost.

The short answer
If the vehicle runs every day and through whole shifts, choose lithium. If it is used a few days a week over short distances, lead-acid can still make sense.
Range and charging
On the PC-2, the lead-acid battery gives about 60 km of range and the 10.8 kWh lithium pack about 90 km. Lithium reaches 80% charge in 4 hours; lead-acid takes around 6 hours. A top-up during the lunch break genuinely works with lithium.
Weight
A PC-2 with a lithium pack is about 160 kg lighter than the lead-acid version. It leaves fewer marks on the turf and works less hard on slopes.
Maintenance
Lead-acid batteries need regular water level checks and terminal cleaning. A lithium pack needs no maintenance; the battery management system balances the cells itself.
When lead-acid makes sense
- When budget is the priority
- When the vehicle covers less than 20 km a day
- When it will stand parked for long periods in winter
