How many golf carts does a hotel need?
How to size a fleet from the number of rooms, the size of the grounds and check-in peaks.

The starting point
For resorts spread across bungalows and villas, look at the busiest check-in hour of the season. How many guest groups are being taken from the lobby to their rooms at the same time?
A simple calculation
- How many minutes does one transfer round (out, drop off, back) take on average?
- How many groups check in per hour at peak time?
- Number of vehicles = groups per hour ÷ (60 ÷ round time)
For example, if a round takes 12 minutes and 20 groups arrive in the peak hour: 20 ÷ 5 = 4 vehicles. Adding one spare vehicle is good practice to cover breakdowns and charging.
The right mix of models
A typical mix is the PC-4 or PC-6 for guest transfers, the PC-W for housekeeping and technical teams, and one PC-A first-response vehicle for the beach and pool area.
Rent or buy?
If demand varies strongly across the season, buying a core fleet and adding seasonal rentals in the busy months lowers the total cost. We visit your property to assess it.
